USEFUL INFORMATION

Skipness Village is a very picturesque small coastal village. There is a village store called Skipness Stores which stocks all essentials plus provides Post Office services. The Skipness Food Cabin, a 5 minute walk, is famous and very child friendly. From the cottage, the views of the Kilbrannan Sound are very striking. There are some great walks in the area, including a well signposted walk over the hills to Tarbert Lochfyne. The village lis on the 'Kintyre Way' long distance walk, it is an excellent stopover, very charming and child friendly. The village is surrounded by hill farming area so please keep dogs on a leash.

HOW TO GET THERE:
A village bus links with Tarbert and beyond. The ferry to Arran from Cloanaig is nearby . Ferries also leave from the West side of Kintyre from Kennecraig to the Inner Hebrides (Islay and Jura and Colonsay - and on to Oban on some days). There is a ferry from Tayinloan to Gigha . You can fly into Campbeltown from Glasgow and then take a bus up to the north of the Peninsula and connect with the local Skipness bus or use the local taxi service, see www.pepcars.co.uk.
