The Auvézère river meanders its way through the village. Tourtoirac has a number of shops
and all basic provisions are available; a bakery, a small supermarket, a garage, a hairdresser, an ironmonger and a postoffice. There is also a modest hotel restaurant where you can buy magazines and (English) newspapers.
